The session of representatives of the municipalities of Kosovska Mitrovica, Leposavic, Zvecan and Zubin Potok in Leposavic, whose topic was the implementation of the provisional agreement with KFOR, was ended because representatives of Zubin Potok did not show up.
Those who were present agreed that every municipality will examine the agreement on its own.
Stefanovic told Tanjug news agency that the expectation that local authorities should accept the provisional agreement was created artificially and underlined that this agreement was accepted by the state, while its implementation is the task of local authorities.
Commenting on whether the ending of today’s session will postpone the implementation of the agreement too, Stefanovic explained that this is a sensitive process that will have several phases.
He voiced hope that the situation on the ground will slowly go back to normal and declared that discord and disunity must be avoided.
The plan is to try to create, in accordance with the Serbs from northern Kosovo and local authorities, the conditions for reducing tensions and bringing the situation back to normal so that this crisis could end and
dialogue with Pristina continue in September.
According to him, the first topic will be customs seals and Serbia will insist that the seals be in line with UN Security Council Resolution 1244, and the follow-up customs documentation neutral regarding the status of the province.
