Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Goran Bogdanovic said last night that presidents of municipalities of northern Kosovo informed Serbian President Boris Tadic about the current situation in Kosovo-Metohija and declared that the Serbian people in the province supports the state of Serbia.
Bogdanovic said after this meeting that representatives of Serbs from northern Kosovo expressed their complete trust in the state of Serbia.
He said that the meeting focused on the ways of preserving peace and stability and all participants agreed that cooperation with the international community should be continued.
The objective of the meetings was not to give directives to the management of municipalities, but to inform the President of Serbia about the latest developments and to discuss implementation of the temporary agreement with KFOR, Bogdanovic said.
Speaking about whether the representatives of Serbs from northern Kosovo will remove the barricades, the Minister said he believes in the responsibility of local authorities in this area and that they will bring a rational decision about that on Tuesday at a joint session of municipal assemblies of the north of the province.
Apart from Bogdanovic, the meeting was also attended by Head of the Serbian government’s team for dialogue with Pristina Borislav Stefanovic.
