In a statement to Radio Television Serbia from a studio in Zvecan, Stefanovic said that this agreement that will be valid until 15 September is a good framework for further peace negotiating process which is the only path to a lasting solution.
He underlined that the most important thing for the Serbs in northern Kosovo is that any attempt of Pristina at complicating the situation further has been averted and added that there will be no so-called Kosovo customs at administrative crossings Jarinje and Brnjak and that KFOR will remain in control of them.
Stefanovic said that there is no possibility for blockade of goods from Serbia at the so-called alternative crossings.
He stated that the agreement is not ideal and is not fully in accordance with the request of Kosovo Serbs, but it enabled firm guarantees from the international community that there will be no unilateral attempts at changing the situation on the ground.
Serbia’s main goal was to prevent the establishment of so-called Kosovo institutions and it worked, and also to prevent any attempt at changing the situation with violence and putting people’s lives in danger, Stefanovic underlined.
There will be no more talks on the provisional agreement, Stefanovic declared and added that Serbia stands by its people and has employed the entire state apparatus in order to find a way out from this difficult situation.
