First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic said today that the draft agreement on the resolution of the situation in northern Kosovo-Metohija which representatives of the Serbian government worked out last night with KFOR increases the chances for peace and stability in the southern province.
Dacic told reporters after the conference at the Palace of Serbia that this agreement, in case it is accepted, will be a temporary solution until a lasting compromise is reached through dialogue.
The international bodies have the duty to secure this stability, the Minister underlined and warned that any kind of one-sided moves in Kosovo-Metohija is not good since the solution should be searched for in the continuation of dialogue that was launched on the basis of a UN resolution.
The First Deputy Prime Minister reiterated that Serbia will not trade national interests in order to get EU candidate status and that there is a red line when it comes to state interests below which our country certainly will not go regarding Kosovo-Metohija.
