Opening administrative crossings for passenger traffic first step towards lasting agreement

Head of the Serbian government’s team for dialogue with Pristina Borislav Stefanovic voiced his hope late yesterday that the opening of administrative crossings Brnjak and Jarinje in the north of Kosovo for passenger traffic will be the first step in achieving a more lasting agreement.
In the talks with citizens of Leposavic, Stefanovic said that discussions on the status of the administrative crossings will continue, and on who will be on them and how it will work.
We will discuss that today with EU’s mediator in Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Robert Cooper and probably with KFOR commander Erhard Buehler, Stefanovic said.
Citizens of northern Kosovo deserve all praise and support because they show in a democratic and European way their legitimate right to fight for their interests without harming anyone, Stefanovic underlined.
Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Goran Bogdanovic stated that the aid from the Serbian government in medical supplies and food should reach citizens in northern Kosovo today.
KFOR soldiers did not let Stefanovic and Bogdanovic enter the province at Jarinje crossing last night, but they still managed to enter Kosovo-Metohija via alternative routes.
