Situation at Jarinje, Brnjak crossings should be reverted to original state

Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Goran Bogdanovic and Head of the Serbian government’s team for dialogue with Pristina Borislav Stefanovic reiterated today their request to KFOR to revert the situation at Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings in northern Kosovo to the state before the invasion of special units of Kosovo police.

Stefanovic said in the talks with the Serbs in the village of Zupce near the Brnjak crossing that he requested during the meeting with KFOR commander Erhard Buehler that Kosovo customs officers and border police leave these two administrative checkpoints as soon as possible.

We request that the situation at Jarinje and Brnjak crossings be reverted to its original state. What was done at Brnjak was an attempt at installing Pristina institutions, he underlined, adding that this crossing, which Pristina authorities call “border crossing“ is not a border crossing and it will never be. The only way to solve this problem is that those who entered the crossing without any previous agreement in order to change the situation on the ground unilaterally leave as soon as possible. Stefanovic and Bogdanovic spoke previously with the Serbs gathered at the barricades near Leposavic towards Jarinje checkpoint.
