Serbia will not allow promotion of Kosovo’s self-proclaimed independence through dialogue

Head of the Office of Media Relations Milivoje Mihajlovic stated today that EU mediator in talks between Belgrade and Pristina Robert Cooper made a good move by postponing today’s round of dialogue.
Mihajlovic told Fonet news agency that Belgrade found it troubling to have symbols of the self-proclaimed Kosovo state on customs seals, and reiterated that Cooper made a good move by leaving some time for synchronisation.
This round of talks was ambitiously conceived because we were supposed to achieve agreement on several topics.
Mihajlovic observed that dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina will be resumed in September, despite the fact that there are many opponents to it.
The government strongly endorses dialogue with Pristina, but it does not want to promote the self-proclaimed state of Kosovo through dialogue, Mihajlovic concluded.
