Italian Goldoni to export tractors, cultivators made in Serbia

Minister of Economy and Regional Development Nebojsa Ciric, Belgrade Mayor Dragan Djilas and Director of the company "Goldoni" Andrea Goldoni signed an agreement with which this Italian company has voiced its readiness to invest in Serbia’s tractor and cultivator industry.

Ciric explained that the company is ready to buy 70.63% of total capital of Belgrade firm “21. Maj” in Rakovica at a public auction.
Over the next three years Goldoni plans to invest €10 million in the production of tractors and cultivators, he said.
This was a joint initiative of the Ministry, the City of Belgrade and the Serbian government to persuade the company "Goldoni" to invest in Serbia, the Minister said, adding that 400 young people from Rakovica will find work in this factory.
Ciric expressed satisfaction over the fact that our country will have a local product with the brand "Goldoni" that is made in Serbia and sold in foreign markets, noting that the company's full production will start late this year or early next year.
Djilas said that any such event is of great importance for Belgrade and the Serbian market, adding that this is a good opportunity for other companies in the same area to invest in our country.
Goldoni noted that this is a strategic stage in the development of "Goldoni", which produces cultivators and tractors for 80 years now, mostly for export.
"Goldoni" produces special-purpose cultivators and tractors with a production capacity of 13 thousand machines a year. It currently employs approximately 400 workers. This Italian company was founded in 1926 in Modena.
