Borislav Stefanovic
Stefanovic told the Tanjug news agency that Belgrade and Pristina teams talk on a daily basis with the EU that is very constructive.
Communications are via telephone or videoconference, which proved to be an effective way even when we have disagreements, said Stefanovic.
He commented on informal demands for Serbia to recognise Kosovo's independence by saying that they are isolated, individual interpretations, which in no way represent a commitment to our country.
Serbia is not required to recognise the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo, nor will it do, Stefanovic said, adding that there is simply no way to force our country to such an act.
He said that Serbia and the EU have a common interest to efficiently define the relations between Belgrade and Pristina.
We share the optimism expressed by EU's dialogue intermediary Robert Cooper, we are quite close to the solution to the matter of freedom of movement, cadastre, registries, and maybe even electricity and we hope that the next meeting will resolve issues relating to people's lives on Kosovo, said Stefanovic.
When it comes to whether Serbia will participate at the next meeting of CEFTA on the expert level in Pristina, Stefanovic said that it is good that we have experts attending the meetings to discuss various topics, including unilateral announcements about the introduction of tariffs for goods from Serbia, which is an absolute violation of the CEFTA agreement.
The said meeting will be held at the EU premises in Pristina, so there is no chance of prejudicing the status of Kosovo, he said.
