The conference will include presentation of various possibilities for conducting projects in Serbia-Montenegro, discussions on economic systems and business environment, market conditions, political situation and ways of business development.
Minister Parivodic said at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce that the trade volume between Greece and Serbia-Montenegro was $157 million until June 2004. An increase between 10 and 15 percent is expected next year.
Serbian Minister of Economy Predrag Bubalo welcomed the holding of such conference and said that there are few states that are so compatible as Serbia-Montenegro and Greece.
Chamber's President Slobodan Milosavljevic said that the aim of the conference is to establish closer contacts that should result in strategic partnership between the two country's economies, strengthening of regional cooperation, participation in third markets and establishment of a free trade zone.
Executive sponsor of the conference Aleksandros Kostopulos said that participants are divided in two groups.
The first group consists of companies that already work in Serbia, and firms that still have not begun with business operations there, said Kostopulos, and added that there are another two big supermarket chains which want to invest in Serbia.
The second group includes companies, executives and policy makers.
More than 1,000 firms with direct investment in Serbia have been invited to attend the conference, as well as another 500 which are interested to work indirectly. The sponsors intend to invite companies from Turkey, Egypt and the Black Sea region, as well as representatives of Western companies that have branch offices in Athens.
