Food parcels for vulnerable population in Kosovo-Metohija

The Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija stated today that municipal organisations of the Red Cross of Serbia have started with distribution of 7, 692 humanitarian parcels of food and 7,692 hygiene parcels provided by this ministry.
For this purpose the ministry donated RSD 37, 924,000 to the Red Cross of Serbia in December 2010.
According to official data of the Provincial organisation of the Red Cross, there are 7, 246 families in Kosovo-Metohija in permanent need for humanitarian aid.
Humanitarian aid will be given to welfare cases, internally displaced persons in Kosovo-Metohija, communities of returnees, as well as families of the kidnapped and missing, it is added in the statement by the ministry.
