The house of Stojan Grkovic in Orahovac has been burnt down, the Serbian Orthodox Church Diocese of Raska-Prizren said.
The fire broke out last night at 8:30 pm. Immediately on sight of fire, the Serbs living in the neighbourhood called KFOR to send a fire engine, but no fireman appeared for one hour. The fire demolished the whole house. Grkovic’s house had been looted and robbed several times before.
There are 480 Serbs living in isolation in the upper part of Orahovac. Since June 1999, when international forces arrived in Kosovo-Metohija, Albanian extremists have set fire to dozens of Serbian houses in an attempt to throw out local Serbs, reads the statement.
