Responding to questions of MPs at the Serbian parliament, Stefanovic stressed that the aim of negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina is not and will not be the recognition of unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo-Metohija.
For Serbia the negotiations are a process in which concrete issues are being addressed.
For us, the status is clear a priori – Kosovo-Metohija is part of Serbia, Stefanovic said, adding that Serbian citizens in Kosovo have various problems and that they want Serbia to do its level best to resolve them and make their lives easier.
He underlined that the Serbian side is ready to talk about all issues, but being ready to talk does not mean that it will violate the Constitution of Serbia.
Stefanovic pointed out that the talks so far have not been easy and that little has been achieved, noting that it is difficult to reach a solution and that this process will take a long time.
Dialogue with Pristina can bring a lot of good not only to Serbs, but also to Albanians because it will help solve concrete problems that were kept under the carpet for a whole decade, he concluded.
