State Secretary for Kosovo-Metohija Oliver Ivanovic stated today that results acquired through the ongoing population census in the province will not provide a realistic image of the situation in the field, because Serbs will not take part in it.

Speaking at a roundtable discussion "Population Census – Serbia and the Region", organised by the Tanjug news agency, Ivanovic stressed that this is why this data cannot be used as a basis for future political solutions.
The proposal that the census in the north of the province be conducted by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is politically correct, Ivanovic said adding that, however, he is not certain that Serbs in the province will be of the same opinion.
