Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica, Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus, and Finance Minister Mladjan Dinkic, met today with a delegation of the Vojvodina Executive Council to discuss the province’s recommendation to increase Vojvodina’s share in revenues from income taxes.
Vojvodina’s proposals for financing projects totaling 360 million dinars received support of the Serbian government.
The government is of the opinion that projected revenues from income taxes will be sufficient for these projects, while the Vojvodina Executive Council thinks otherwise.
The government guarantees that revenues in the said amount will come to Vojvodina’s budget and that, in case that these revenues do not come, the government will provide them after six months.
Both delegations agreed that the meeting was very advantageous and they stressed the need for full institutional cooperation between the Serbian government and the Vojvodina Executive Council.
