Bubalo explained that the necessary infrastructure has also been set up, which is important from the perspective of Bujanovac municipality’s development and stability.
He said that investments in the south of Serbia are valuable for the development and stability of the whole republic, adding that the government will continue to stimulate economic activities in South Serbia.
There are 227,000 citizens in the Pcinj region, 44,070 are employed, 23,465 of whom work in the industry sector. Among them are 3,500 workers of Kostana and approximately 11,000 workers of Yumco, who receive no pay and do not work.
The candy plant in Zbevac is part of Kondiva confectionary maker. The building of the plant began in November 2003. Its total investment, financed by Simpo, amounts to €5.8 million.
The plant has the annual capacity of 2.5 tonnes of candies and caramel. The plant will deliver around 30 new products on the market. Simpo will keep on investing in South Serbia, particularly Bujanovac, where it already has ten plants.
