Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Goran Bogdanovic said that the talks between Belgrade and Pristina, scheduled to begin today, could signify a turning point in the relations between Serbs and Albanians.
Bogdanovic told the Beta news agency that the negotiations in Brussels could pave the way for a historic compromise.
However, we should not have high aspirations right away. It is vital that the talks begin and that they start resolving issues crucial to the life of people in the province, the Minister stressed, voicing his expectation that serious steps will be made to resolve the issues important to the Serbian community.
He said that the negotiations will last long and added that technical issues will be discussed at the beginning, whereas the issues related to sovereignty will be raised later.
Bogdanovic stressed it is good that the talks are not limited by time, adding that it is very important not to start negotiations with imposed solutions.
