In an interview for Frankfurter News, Stefanovic voiced his expectation that the talks will begin soon after the formation of the government in Pristina.
Our greatest priority in the province are the people and as long as we are able to protect them, give them a normal life and enable their return, this will be our guiding star, Stefanovic stressed adding that any legitimate representative of Albanians who will implement agreed solutions is acceptable as a partner in the talks.
He said that all issues have a political dimension and that in this sense it can be said that they are status-related, although Belgrade and Pristina have quite differing views on this.
It is essential to regulating our relations. It may be called otherwise, but this is the biggest and toughest issue which will define the future and prosperity, as well as the security in the Western Balkans and Serbia’s movement towards the EU, Stefanovic noted.
The Serbian negotiating team will take care of our national interest and make sure that lines, which Serbia clearly defined, are not crossed, he concluded.
