General Manager of EPS power utility Vladimir Djordjevic and Swiss Ambassador to Serbia-Montenegro Wilhelm Meyer signed today an agreement on the donation of equipment worth 5.5 million Swiss francs to the national dispatcher centre, which is part of ongoing Swiss support to EPS amounting to 15.3 million Swiss francs.
Djordjevic said that the centre will provide modern surveillance of the whole high voltage network, noting that this donation is valuable.
Minister of Mining and Energy Radomir Naumov, who was present at the signing event, said that this donation will contribute to modernising and reforming the domestic energy system and its integration in European processes.
According to Ambassador Meyer, this donation aims to help EPS become a strong and independent company that will successfully integrate into the European energy system. He recalled that the Swiss government sent its first two donations to EPS in July 2003, going on to say that the donations will continue until 2007.
