Bogdanovic told Tanjug news agency that the solution was found after several days of consultation between representatives of the Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija and the Ministry of the Interior, which is in charge of issues related to licence plates, and representatives of the international community in Kosovo-Metohija.
It was agreed that the issuing of new licence plates can be continued, but that old ones can be kept and that all citizens whose place of residence is in the province can use them, the Minister explained.
The main goal of this agreement is to enable free movement for all residents of the province and not to jeopardise in any way the launch of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, he said.
The Minister said that this compromise solution enabled a normal life as well as respect of one of fundamental human rights, freedom of movement.
Bogdanovic said that the latest development of the situation is very optimistic and that this agreement shows that a compromise can be reached.
He expressed the hope that such trend will continue in the upcoming dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
