Retail prices of goods are up by 10.3% compared to December 2009, while the average consumer price increase stands at 6.5%.
By groups, compared with the previous month, a major price hike was recorded in the health sector (1.9%), clothes, footwear and furniture, house appliances and current costs (0.6%), alcoholic drinks and tobacco, and communication services (0.5%), recreation and culture, restaurants and hotels (0.4%), while the prices of other goods and services mostly remained the same.
CPI COICOP is defined as a measure of average change of retail prices of goods and services used for personal consumption.
