Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Goran Bogdanovic said today that the necessary conditions have not been met for Serbs to take part in the elections in Kosovo-Metohija scheduled for 12 December and reiterated that he will not divide Kosovo Serbs on this issue.
Bogdanovic’s written statement to the press reads that regarding the erroneous interpretations and writings of certain media outlets concerning the position of Serbian officials from Kosovo and Metohija towards the upcoming elections in the southern province, the Minister for Kosovo-Metohija wishes to underline that the statements he made last week conveyed a very clear message.
Given that Serbia's position is that all problems must be resolved peacefully and through compromise and that we oppose any imposition of unilateralism, we hope and expect that the legitimate international presence, as well as all citizens of Kosovo-Metohija will take all measures available to prevent the upcoming elections from being used to raise tensions and create incidents, it is added in Bogdanovic’s statement for the press.
