Bogdanovic asserted that Serbia's interest is that the EULEX mission be as successful as possible and for it to contribute to maintaining peace and stability in Kosovo-Metohija.
As long as the EU mission acts in line with its mandate and status neutrality, official Belgrade will have a reliable and predictable partner, the Minister reiterated.
He acknowledged that EULEX and KFOR in the past strengthened their presence in the north of the province, adding that official Belgrade has nothing against such activities as long as they are coordinated in cooperation with Serbia and are status neutral.
Otherwise, the people in the north of Kosovo-Metohija will not understand the actions of EULEX as being the fight against crime, but rather as the EULEX mission being on the side of Pristina, warned Bogdanovic.
In order to avoid such situations and unnecessary tension, better coordination is necessary, he stated.
Belgrade is ready to cooperate with legitimate international representatives in the southern province in the fight against all forms of crime, affirmed Bogdanovic.
The Minister remarked during the meeting with the head of the EULEX mission that crime is not only present in the north, but on the whole territory of Kosovo-Metohija.
Bogdanovic reiterated the threat of unilateral actions and possible intentions to change the reality on the ground because it would result in hindering or preventing any such dialogue.
Launching initiatives to eliminate the presence of the UN in the north can only harm constructive cooperation and good communication, concluded the Minister.
Bogdanovic and De Marnhac agreed that mutual cooperation can result in certain improvements to mutual benefit, according to a statement of the Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija.
