Government helps Kraljevo to repair earthquake damage

Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic said in Kraljevo that the Serbian government will immediately pay RSD 5 million as short-term aid for the reconstruction of the city that was heavily hit this morning by an earthquake, while long-term assistance will be sent after the consequences and extent of the damage are evaluated.

Cvetkovic, who participated in the meeting of the Crisis Response Team in Kraljevo, confirmed that the government will supply building materials, furniture and clothes.

He affirmed that short-term support of RSD 5 million was set aside today by the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, adding that RSD 1 million will be donated for soup kitchens in Kraljevo.

The Prime Minister visited the ruined buildings in the city, as well as the village of Ribnica and other villages surrounding Kraljevo that were most severely hit by the earthquake.

Cvetkovic visited the family of Natalija and Sinisa Stasic, the married couple who died in the earthquake in the Kraljevo neighbourhood of Grdica and extended his heartfelt sympathies to their children, daughter Marica and son Ivica.

Also, Cvetkovic and Kraljevo Mayor Ljubisa Simovic promised the Stasics help in rebuilding their house.

The session of the Crisis Response Team in Kraljevo was also attended by Ministers of Defence and Health Dragan Sutanovac and Tomica Milosavljevic respectively.
