Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, today spoke with Director of the National Entity for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education (NEAQA) Professor Nebojša Zdravković, PhD, deans, vice-deans and other representatives of faculties in Serbia about current issues in the field of higher education, accreditation processes and the possibilities of NEAQA joining the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA).

Macut emphasised that the government remains committed to further improving the higher education system and creating conditions for the stable and smooth operation of higher education institutions.
According to him, strengthening the capacities of universities and harmonising the quality assurance system with European standards are an important part of the further development of the education system and Serbia’s international positioning.
Macut underlined that full membership in ENQA would be a significant confirmation of the quality of the domestic higher education system and contribute to greater international recognition of Serbian universities and their stronger integration into the European higher education space.
Professor Zdravković, PhD, informed the Prime Minister about the activities undertaken to date and further alignment with European standards and guidelines in this area.
The interlocutors agreed that it is necessary to continue cooperation among all relevant institutions to ensure the stability of the system, the continuity of the teaching process and a successful start to the new academic year.
