Ilic voiced satisfaction with the quality of the work done and praised the contractor, the Vojput company from Subotica.
The Minister said that Austrian creditors today confirmed that they will finance the building of the Belgrade ring road with €110 million. He said that the most major investment undertaking in Serbia in the last 20 years will take place in spring - the construction of the second lane of a highway connecting Horgos, Subotica, Novi Sad and Pozega.
The reconstruction works on the highway section near Backa Topola began in May this year and were completed in October, a month and a half ahead of schedule.
The investor of the project was the Serbian Roads Directorate, and the Republic of Serbia and the European Investment Bank financed it.
Several hundreds of square metres of the damage road surface were recovered. All materials were used from domestic resources, thus supporting the assertion that domestic producers can meet high international criteria.
