Lopandic told a press conference today that the liberalisation of the visa regime was one of the topics at a meeting of the Pact's Regional Table held in Skopje, as part of a discussion on cooperation in border management, migration and asylum.
The issue of visa regime is linked to the greatest extent to the reform of police and partly to the reform of judiciary, as well as to the process of putting borders under police control, Lopandic specified. He added that the introducing of a lighter visa regime will be completed by the beginning of next year.
The Assistant Minister said that the issue of visas is a regular topic of all meetings of officials of Western Balkans and Western European countries. The EU fully understands that this is not only a technical, but also a very important political problem for Serbia and other countries in the region, Lopandic said.
