After talks with president of Apatin municipality Zivorad Smiljanic, Dacic expressed satisfaction with projects that were realised and those that have been launched based on the advantages brought by this pan-European corridor, which is the most important waterway on the continent that includes 2,300 kilometres of the Danube’s course.
The most important of these projects are the regional water factory, the international marina on the Danube and port for passenger ships, the Junakovic spa that has been renovated and the water park.
Dacic promised the Serbian government’s help for the port of Apatin, one of the few in Serbia which has remained in state ownership.
Smiljanic outlined that the municipality has an area of 160 hectares of land as a tax-free zone, an industrial park and the port itself, which could span along the Danube shore for a length of 1,400 metres.
This is the largest development opportunity for the municipality in which RSD 5 billion has been invested over the last six years, of which RSD 1 billion was private investment.
Dacic visited Junakovic spa and the Roma settlement on the outskirts of the city today, and met with the Chief of Sombor Police Administration Sasa Dmitrasinovic.
