Dačić emphasised that the Ministry of the Interior carries out intensive activities on a daily basis to combat irregular migration and dismantle criminal groups involved in human smuggling, as well as that additional measures are being taken at all border crossings and along the state border for the purpose of more efficient surveillance and maintaining security.
Pósfai stated that, given the current situation in Europe, it is crucial that the two countries take a common position on numerous strategic issues and that they can count on each other as reliable partners.
The interlocutors assessed that the joint activities of Serbia and Hungary in the previous period have yielded significant results in protecting state borders and combating migrant smuggling, emphasising that the two countries will continue to act in a coordinated and decisive manner in the fight against all security challenges.
They also agreed that there is significant room for further strengthening cooperation between the two ministries, primarily through more intensive exchange of operational information, joint activities of police services, training, exchange of experiences and application of best professional practices.
It was particularly emphasised that Serbia and Hungary are reliable partners that share a common interest in preserving the security of their citizens, protecting state borders and preserving the stability of the region, and that successful cooperation in the field of internal affairs will continue in the coming period, to the mutual benefit.
