Wastewater purification plant opened in Backi Petrovac

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus attended today the opening of Backi Petrovac’s environmental wastewater purification plant, which cost 50 million dinars to build.
The facility, built within the EU’s 1991 guidelines for sewage systems, is the first of its kind in the Balkans. The solution is good for small towns with a population of between 500 and 5,000.
Financial support to the project was provided by the Serbian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water-Management.
Labus said that the state will also provide funds for other small towns across Serbia to build similar facilities.
