Ivanovic told Radio Television Serbia that Serbia opposes the KPS guarding Gracanica and other monasteries and that those who violated Serbian monasteries will be encouraged to repeat the same acts as long as they are at large.
This is why the number of international soldiers should not be reduced or relocated from sensitive areas, ie, isolated enclaves and places of Serbian cultural heritage, stressed Ivanovic.
Speaking on the Kosovo resolution to be discussed in the UN General Assembly, Ivanovic disclosed that some countries oppose the resolution’s first article opposing seccession, which Serbia cannot give up.
Although countries that recognised Kosovo see the province as a sui generis case, they would not want Serbia’s explicit stance repeated in the General Assembly despite it being in line with international law, highlighted Ivanovic.
He expressed the hope that sense will prevail in the UN General Asembly, noting that crucial parts of the resolution will not be changed.
Ivanovic repeated that Serbia’s partner for talks on all important issues related to Kosovo will remain the UN.
