In an interview with FoNet agency Ivanovic pointed to the necessity of the beginning of talks between Belgrade and Pristina soon as the problem of Kosovo-Metohija cannot be resolved without Serbia.
The international community wants to teach us democratic principles, without applying appropriate measures when those principles are so heavily violated, he maintained.
Ivanovic expressed concern about the decision of the authorities in Pristina and pointed out that Pristina would have to think about what these actions produce in the long term.
He questioned the mission of EULEX in Kosovo-Metohija if it is not protecting the rule of law and respect of the law.
Ivanovic clarified that international organisations must be neutral and reiterated that talks between Belgrade and Pristina should start as soon as possible.
Ivanovic illustrated that there are differences on what topics should be discussed.
Albanians think that just technical issues should be discussed, because they feel that they have resolved the status issue, but I think that subconsciously they know that the status is not resolved. It will be resolved only when Serbia agrees to accept it, he declared.
Ivanovic emphasised that representatives of the UN, EU and the United States must take part in the negotiations, and stressed that Serbia, fighting for Kosovo-Metohija, is not closing the door of the EU.
