Government committed to peaceful solution for Kosovo-Metohija issue

Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Goran Bogdanovic spoke today in Kosovska Mitrovica with presidents of Serbian municipalities and representatives of the provincial trade union.
Bogdanovic informed them about the Serbian government’s decision to pass a new decree in the course of the next week on continuation of payment of the Kosovo allowance, and that this issue will be resolved with a law that will be adopted in emergency procedure.
The Minister and presidents of Serbian municipalities condemned the declaration of independence of the association of municipalities of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija and underlined that this declaration was made by several irresponsible individuals and is aimed first of all against Kosovo Serbs and Serbia’s interests.
They called on Kosovo Serbs not to fall for the activities of groups and irresponsible individuals from the Serbian community because they do not represent anyone else but themselves and only their own interests.
Such declarations and irresponsible actions of anonymous individuals are an excuse and an alibi for Pristina to take unilateral action and continue with further provocation.
This declaration is null and is not backed by any relevant political entity from Kosovo Serbs or the state of Serbia.
Presidents of Serbian municipalities and Bogdanovic reminded all that the Serbian government is committed to a peaceful and compromise solution to the problem of Kosovo-Metohija.
