Vukmirovic told Tanjug news agency that this is a significant increase, recalling that three months ago the Statistics Office announced first estimates regarding GDP growth in the first quarter, which stood at 0.6%.
If our preliminary assessments of GDP indicate a 1.6% growth in the second quarter, this is undoubtedly a sign that we are on the path to recovery. Movements in industrial production are also satisfactory, therefore it is safe to say that Serbia is starting to recover from the crisis, Vukmirovic explained.
At the moment we can say that industry recorded important growth in this period, which greatly enabled the GDP increase, he concluded.
