Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic called upon over 120 states, which did not recognise the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo, to endorse the resolution Serbia submitted to the UN General Assembly, which says that unilateral secession is an unacceptable way of solving territorial disputes.

In yesterday’s interview for the Associated Press, Jeremic noted that endorsement to the resolution put forward by Serbia is the best way to close the Pandora’s Box that was opened after last week’s announcement of the International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion, which said that the province’s declaration of independence did not breach international law.
The Minister highlighted that there are around 100 separatist movements in dozens of countries and that the best way of preventing them following suit as in Kosovo and declaring independence is to endorse Serbia’s resolution at the UN General Assembly.
