Additional RSD 500m for subsidised housing loans

The Ministry of Economy and Regional Development stated that the Serbian government approved at today’s telephone session an additional RSD 500 million for subsidising interest on housing loans through the Programme for support to the construction industry and long-term housing credit.
This will additionally stabilise the housing loan market and will help citizens to buy their first flat, reads a statement by the Ministry. For this programme, the government has already set aside RSD 2.5 billion in 2010. Up until the middle of June, 2,026 subsidised loans to citizens have been approved.
As part of this RSD 500 million and the remaining funds that have not been spent, it is expected that another 500 state-subsidised housing loans will be approved, it is added in the statement.
