ICJ opinion not end of struggle for Kosovo-Metohija

Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic stated today that the International Court of Justice will announce its opinion regarding Kosovo-Metohija on 22 July. It will be a moment of truth and a warning to the Albanian representatives of the interim institutions in Pristina who thought that unilateral moves could change the norms of international law.
The Court’s opinion will not be the last episode in Serbia’s struggle, considering the fact that the Court will present it to the UN General Assembly, he pointed out.
A tough battle awaits Serbia in the UN General Assembly for winning a majority. This will be much harder than what Serbia has experienced earlier, stressed the Minister.
We must be aware of the fact that Serbia will very probably soon be exposed to intensive, well organised Albanian propaganda and the pressure to give in, he underlined.
Serbia will continue its diplomatic and peaceful struggle to safeguard its territorial integrity, as well as its efforts to reach a solution based on compromise for the issue of the future status of Kosovo-Metohija, reiterated Jeremic.
We can reach such a solution only through negotiation, concluded the Minister.
