Bogdanovic told the Tanjug news agency that a bomb attack on Serbs in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica, who had gathered to protest about the opening of an office of the unrecognised Kosovo government, is another act of violence in a series of many showing that Albanian extremists will not hesitate to do whatever it takes in order to achieve their secessionist plans.
The Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija demands that EULEX finally should undertake the measures in line with its mandate and start protecting the lives and property of Serbs in the province, secure peace and find and punish the perpetrators of the attack, Bogdanovic underscored.
He said that the fact that an unrecognised government is opening an office for issuing identification documents in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica is an outright provocation aimed at causing new incidents.
He stressed that the attack that occurred this morning demonstrates that any attempt on behalf of Pristina to integrate the northern part of the province can have unforeseen consequences to peace and stability.
Bogdanovic noted that it is now clear to all that the source of terrorism in the province is not Serbs living in the northern part of Kosovo-Metohija, but Albanian extremists whom the so-called Kosovo government evidently supports.
The Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija will do all it can to protect citizens in the north of the province, Bogdanovic promised, repeating his plea to EULEX to find and punish the perpetrators as soon as possible and to ensure that these incidents and outbursts of violence do not reoccur.
