The statement adds that in the period January–May 2010, when compared to the same period in 2009, industrial production increased by 5.4%.
By sectors, an increase was recorded in ore and stone mining (10%), the processing industry (7.9%) and the production and distribution of electricity, gas and water (1.8%).
Data on industrial production in May 2010, compared to May 2009, indicates that there was an increase in the production of intermediary products, energy excluded (25.7%), durable consumer goods (13.1%), energy (2.8%) and non-durable consumer goods (1.4%), while a drop was registered in the production of capital goods (22.4%).
