Patriarch Irinej stated in his sermon that the right of the ethnic Albanian people to live in Kosovo-Metohija cannot be questioned, but added that Serbs have the same right, for whom Kosovo-Metohija is their ancestral home.
He expressed his hope that a solution will be found for the issue of Kosovo-Metohija which will be satisfactory to both sides.
After the service, Bogdanovic declared that there is room for both Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo-Metohija and that it is possible for everyone to live in peace.
Serbia is ready to resolve all problems in its southern province through dialogue with representatives of the interim institutions in Pristina, he pointed out.
Once the International Court of Justice delivers its decision, I am confident we will all sit down at the negotiating desk and resolve the province’s status and other related burning issues, the Minister said stressing that everyone should now look to the future and move towards reconciliation, co-existence and a better tomorrow for all residents of Kosovo-Metohija.
We must solve all issues through dialogue, peace and compromise, and not by new conflicts and banishments, Bogdanovic underlined, adding that problems have to be solved by negotiation as this is the only way of resolving them which is acceptable to Serbia.
