In a statement to Beta news agency, Bogdanovic said that it is obvious that with this move, EULEX has taken the side of Pristina, assuming the role of the secessionists´ advocate and violating UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
Our patience and demonstrated constructiveness have limits, the Minister pointed out and reiterated that with this decision, EULEX has violated the neutrality to which it is bound by the mission’s mandate.
We request from EULEX to immediately revoke this decision because otherwise our cooperation and relations will be seriously brought into question. It is obvious that EULEX has intentionally made this decision right before the elections in northern Kosovska Mitrovica that are scheduled for 30 May and thus it has joined provocations made by Pristina, Bogdanovic underlined.
He said that municipal elections in northern Kosovska Mitrovica will be held regardless of provocations, which will confirm Serbia’s seriousness and strengthen its institutions and presence in Kosovo-Metohija, especially in its northern part.
