Telephone signal in largest part of Kosovo-Metohija re-established

Minister of Telecommunications and Information Society Jasna Matic said today that the signal of Serbian mobile and fixed phone operators has been restored in the largest part of the territory of Kosovo-Metohija.

Matic told Beta news agency that the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society requested that UNMIK not allow unlawful conduct of the provisional institutions of self-government in Kosovo-Metohija, which caused great harm to local people and the Serbian operators Telekom Srbija and Telenor.
Under Security Council Resolution 1244, telecommunications jurisdiction in Kosovo-Metohija was placed under the authority of UNMIK, said the Minister.
She reiterated that there is no doubt that Kosovo-Metohija is part of Serbian territory and that Resolution 1244 is the only document that has legal weight, on which Serbia will continue to insist.
