Serbian Minister of Finance Mladjan Dinkic opened a two-day inaugural congress on mortgage financing in Europe today, welcoming around 200 representatives from Serbia-Montenegro, East, South East and Central Europe, Russia, the European Union and the US.

Dinkic presented Serbia's reform results over the past four years, highlighting bank and financial sector reforms.
The Minister said that a national corporation for housing loan insurance is due to launch operations in December, expressing the hope that the institution's equity capital will increase from the current €10 million to some €50 million in 2005.
The congress will allow representatives of governments in transition countries to share their mortgage financing experience with EU and US experts.
