As part of the visit, Dinkic met with officials of the Kraljevo Municipal Assembly, offering government assistance in tackling main problems in the municipality and the region. According to him, the government is ready to help the local government implement small-scope development projects that do not require substantial investment.
The Minister called on the local government to take a more active role in creating and implementing infrastructure and development projects, stressing that the government, in cooperation with the Development Fund and the Guarantee Fund, will put efforts into encouraging private initiative in the region.
Following the meeting, the delegation toured Radijator, a private radiator producer whose exports are mostly destined for the Austrian market. The company, which receives orders in excess of its production capacity by 50 percent, has asked the Development Fund to approve it a loan to help it boost production and open 50 jobs.
The delegation also toured an unprofitable railway car plant, with Dinkic promising that the government will do its best to reschedule or write off part of the company's debts and help it restructure and find a new owner.
The Ministry officials also attended a meeting at the regional chamber of commerce, where they met with over 100 businesspeople to discuss finance-related laws, the 2005 budget and economic policy, the introduction of fiscal cash registers and Value-Added Tad (VAT).
