Milosavljevic said that promotion of the best is especially important in the year of crisis and added that in 2009 it has been more difficult to survive on the market than previous years, handle problems, beat the competition and keep a high rating among consumers.
President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Milos Bugarin said that this campaign is important in many ways. Apart from encouraging the competitive spirit, it is also acquiring a traditional meaning.
He said that the number of applicants for the award has been the highest so far, despite the crisis. Also, voting over the Internet was introduced, so 3,000 citizens of Serbia gave their votes and opinions about companies and products.
Traditional awards were given to the company Bambi – Banat for its Plazma biscuits, to Tuborg beer from the Celarevo factory, Carnex from Vrbas, Meser – Tehnogas from Belgrade and tennis player Novak Djokovic, as best Serbia's brands in 2009.
The Best of Serbia 2009 was organised by the Ministry of Trade and Services, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Privredni Pregled daily.
