Ivanovic in talks with Faller on Kosovo-Metohija

State Secretary at the Serbian Ministry for Kosovo-Metohija Oliver Ivanovic spoke today in Kosvoska Mitrovica with State Secretary at the Hungarian Foreign Ministry Jeno Faller about the issue of Kosovo-Metohija.
After the meeting, Ivanovic said that Hungary should consult Belgrade before taking any further steps regarding the southern Serbian province. He stressed that Serbia is working on improving relations with Hungary, despite the fact that Hungary decided to recognise the unilateral declaration of independence by Kosovo-Metohija.
Ivanovic said that he regrets that Hungary made this decision, adding that one of Serbia’s chief priorities is to defend its territorial integrity and sovereignty.
He said that he talked with Faller about the economic situation in Kosovo-Metohija, adding that among the unemployed in the province are 350,000 Albanians and 22,000 Serbs, as well as thousands of members of other ethnic communities.
He said that Eximbank Hungary is interested in investing in the province and that such investment can greatly help to stabilise the situation.
Faller said that Hungary wishes to mend and improve its relations with Serbia, as it considers Serbia to be a strategic partner and a country of key importance to the stability of the Balkans.
