Jeremic to meet Ban Ki-moon in New York

Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic will meet today in New York with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and ambassadors from UN member countries to discuss preparations for the first session of the UN Security Council in 2010, scheduled for January.
Jeremic told the FoNet news agency that he and Ban Ki-moon will discuss Kosovo-Metohija, UNMIK’s role in 2010, its budget and the way this UN mission should continue representing the provisional authorities in Pristina, which it has done so far.
An important Security Council session is ahead of us, Jeremic said announcing that during his stay in New York he will meet with ambassadors of five countries which on January 1 will become new non-permanent UN Security Council members.
The first session of the new convocation of the Security Council is very important for the course of the entire international debate in 2010. We have been preparing for that session quite meticulously and my stay in New York is part of those preparations, Jeremic concluded.
