Japan donates €100,000 in equipment to Serbian hydrometeorology bureau

Japanese Ambassador to Serbia-Montenegro Ryuichi Tanabe today handed over €100,000 worth of equipment for water quality control to the Serbian hydrometeorology bureau (RHMZ).
The donation from the Japanese government includes equipment for taking samples from the surface, analysis, and detection of chemicals dissolved in water as well as a microscope worth €27,900.
Tanabe expressed hope that the equipment will improve the quality of living in Belgrade, as Serbian Minister of Science and Environmental Protection Aleksandar Popovic thanked the Japanese government.
In 2003, the Japanese government granted equipment worth €15,000 to the RHMZ; the entire project of assistance to this bureau will last until 2008.
