In a statement to Tanjug news agency, Rajakovic said that companies from Europe, China and South Korea are interested in Djerdap 3, which is a very important European project since its capacities could reach 2,500 MW.
He explained that construction of Djerdap 3 requires a previous evaluation of the technical and financial profitability of the project, and large investment for which it is necessary to find a strategic partner.
The point of the reversible hydro electric power plant is that during the night the available energy which cannot be used pumps water from the Danube into the upper lake near Donji Milanovac and when needed, to produce electricity.
Speaking about other projects in this field, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Mining voiced hope that strategic partner will soon be found for construction of four hydro electric power plants at upper Drina river, with the total capacity of 500MW.
This would employ the domestic electromechanical engineering to a large extent and the realisation of these projects would boost the development of the energy sector in Serbia and Republika Srpska, which should implement this project jointly, Rajakovic said.
