State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Slobodan Ilic affirmed that the government has prepared the 2010 budget proposal, as well as two sets of measures envisaging the reduction of public spending and a change in its structure.
Ilic last night said that the budget proposal envisages budgetary deficit of around 4%, announcing that the proposal will be discussed with IMF representatives.
He also explained that the goal of the first set of measures is to reduce public spending by freezing salaries in the public sector, cutting the number of employees in public administration and reducing expenses for the procurement of goods and services, while the goal of the second set of measures is to reduce current expenses and increase investments.
